@SteveClough@metalhead.club no worries, and sadly, in all my trips to the UK I noticed the same and was bummed. Pressure on everything from neighborhood pubs to milking $$ out of places that ought not be.
It's wild how much of the world right now really is facing a lot of the same damnable problems!

@adron@metalhead.club I have talked about it elsewhere, but if you leave a church community, finding another place to meet people, possible talk about important things, and grow together is incredibly difficult. There used to be working mens clubs. Pubs that were locals. Community resources. Pretty well all gone. And we have lost a lot by these no longer being available - as a society.
