Today someone asked me the Dreaded Question: "What is your favourite band?" Every time someone asks me this, I'm throwing a blue screen of death. How to answer this? There are so many bands I like, and so many I liked but don't really anymore even though they still have a special place in my heart, and there are all the ones I don't know yet, and... Well, you get the gist. And now I'm wondering, good people of the Fediverse: Do you have a favourite band/artist? Edit: If you do, don't hesitate to share in reply.

@mbr@metalhead.club problem with this question is that it's like "what's your favorite food?". my favorite band for listening and relaxing isn't the same as when i'm pissed off, or when i need to do serious writing, or when i want to up my playing on a musical instrument.

@mbr@metalhead.club 20 years ago I would have said Metallica with zero hesitation, but recently, the band I was most excited to see a new album from was Castle Rat. I have similar feelings about Gnome and Burning Witches. Don't know about flat out favourites, though.
