Curiosity is a thing
Compassion is a thing
Confidence is a thing
A tendency to persist is a thing
Unwarranted hubris is a thing
all of these things can be developed or stymied by cultural factors.

*and for the record: the definition of empathy isn’t set in stone , and many do not think simple pattern recognition of how a person might feel - or the ability to manipulate emotions in others... is sufficient to call it empathy. I don’t think it is, and most working clinicians wouldn’t either. And yes I know and -I don’t care- that one theorist said it was. Newsflash: there are many, many more folks in the field with plenty of expertise than that one person you’ve read about.
