@oxy@social.bsdlab.au Well I was all set to trial "on prem" with the limited GPU hardware I have at one point. When it became obvious Anthropic were wrong 'uns along with Hugging Face themselves for other reasons, and that the gains from on-prem models would be largely specious or mean-reverting based on the empirical studies to date anyway, I #shitcanned my HF account.

@bms48@mastodon.social fortunately in the various cesspits and puddles I've been involved we were either too small to consider or had enough weapon bioinformaticians who thought that the whole chatbot "fuss" was incredibly stupid and wasteful that HF/Anthropic/Et.al wouldve been sent packing with their tails between their legs
