I've been writing PHP, TypeScript, and Bash for years, along with HTML and CSS. My software engineering journey began in 2009 by making things for the web. Since then I have come to enjoy making all kinds of software.
Until now, those languages have gotten me very far. You can really do a lot with a little. I've written a little C#, Rust, and Ruby over the years, but never really dove in too deep with those languages.
Today I start learning Python, and was delighted to find how easy it is.

And I've course I've always heard that about Python. "It's so simple and easy." It's obviously a super popular programming language, and everyone writes it; I've just never had a need to reach for it when another language would do just fine. Why bother? Recently I was laid off after working 6 years at the NBA, so I have a little downtime. There you go, perfect reason to learn some news skills.
