once you're in the "cocktail" stage of chronic diseases, there are no good choices without side effects. my mom is 89, lupus, thyroid, both flavors of arthritis, low bone mass, high blood pressure, high cholesteral. half of what she's taking are to blunt the effects of the drugs she's taking...
