Western Europe had its hottest June on record.🔥 Intense heatwaves broke temperature records, with peaks up to 9°C above average in France and Germany, according to Copernicus data. Only Cyprus and Malta had normal temperatures. Climate change is real and we are feeling its effects

@EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu Yup. That's true, and great that you called our attention to that. I hope all the member states will unite into both having less emissions but also starting future proofing Europe for the irreversible damage already done. Cities would do well with more green, trees, and running water. Coupled with reservoirs to save skyfall-type rains, wadis, building higher according to high standards instead of urban sprawl... to name a few. We're not gonna survive on carbon credits and recycling alone.

@EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu So … when are we going to actually do what we can against it? I'm talking about real change, not "too little too late".

@EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu But sadly many EU members and YOU have politics worsening the situation and now want to weaken rules, which slow down the effects of the change (e.g. the methane limits, the CO2 certifications, etc.) - you don't have to move the net zero target to 2050 or beyond, you must speed up the net zero target to 2040 or sooner (with incentives, if an EU nation gets carbon neutral or carbon negative before that year)
