Google must be working on the same mandate for Gemini that they were working on for Google Plus... they overrode the button combination on my headset after some update & now the headset cannot be turned off, because the button to turn it off starts Gemini instead. They did the same thing with the off button on my mom's *phone*, & she is trying to find the setting so that she can turn her damned phone off.

@enkiv2@eldritch.cafe @mwichary@mastodon.online Google+ was driven by fear of Facebook taking away ad exposures. It's not so clear what the push for Gemini is being driven by. Some abstract fear of missing out on being a strong brand in our brave new conversational inference world?
