If this was even remotely an apples-to-apples comparison for everyone, then for-profit institutions wouldn't exist.
Choosing a school isn't just about cost, and paying for school doesn't buy you a diploma for zero work.
Your viewpoint is extreme.

@womp@mstdn.ca It’s not just cost it’s accreditation too. But public universities offer millions in unclaimed scholarships, especially for those prospective students in poverty or in protected classes. My partner was able to get 90% of her degree from CalState for free just by scholarship and grant hunting.
