I have a #wikipedia draft I'd like feedback on, particularly from #museum / #gallery / #GLAM types: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Stuartyeates/Signs_of_a_Nation_exhibition_panel_of_the_Treaty_of_Waitangi_English_text_altered_by_Te_Waka_Hourua I'll be looking to submit it in the next couple of weeks. Any feedback greatly appreciated. #WMF #wikimedia #nzpol

  • @stuartyeates@cloudisland.nz Good work! I was amazed that they managed to get the panel for the exhibition - I can only imagine the conversations it took. Good on both the institutions for making it happen, imo. Courageous move. Specific feedback for you to do with what you wish: - it took me a while to realise the name of the article is also the name of the piece. Maybe something like 'the unaltered panel [name] was originally part of [etc etc]. the panel was altered in place [etc].] 'I think i was struggling here because the name of the piece only received the name when it went on exhibition at Adam Art Gal? (but then, I know the journey that panel has taken so someone coming to it for the first time might not have the confusion that I had.) - last line para 2. "all charges were drop" change to "all charges were dropped" - Would it be useful to add the dimensions of the panel? - Do you want to mention the theatre show that was inspired by Te Wehi's experience in remand? https://www.theatreview.org.nz/production/ration-the-queens-veges/

  • @stuartyeates@cloudisland.nz One vocabulary comment: The word "grounded" can be read as a museum-y word. Perhaps replace with "displayed" so it reads "...an exhibition called 'Whai Wāhi' which displayed the panel in context with other objects related to..."
