@apz@some.apz.fi Sounds like I will block our G5 from accessing the internet at the router, once I have it all set up. FFS, why must technology suck??

@tuomas_h@mastodon.social The sad fact is that they keep on getting away with it and the privacy minded folk don't reach the critical mass to cause a meaningful outrage. I always thought being deeply disturbed by stuff like MS' copilot+ snapshotting your desktop and processing that. A lot of colleagues agreed. Then I talked with normies about it and people were mostly like "oh I'm sure it has a good reason to do it" or "I don't do anything criminal on ym computer, I don't mind". That apathy just shocks me and over the years I've noticed that's what the actual masses think of this stuff. That and considering anyone against it as stupid alarmists who see conspiracies everywhere. Even in stuff that has later been proven true. Still someone seems to be listening, as I've noted how much Apple for example always remembers to bang the "it's private and secure" drum with all their AI products.
