well i've got some good news and some bad news
good news is, the silicone adhesive and roughing up of the shaft worked great
bad news is, i didn't notice the conical nature of the little rubber roller doodads, so the whole assembly is lopsided and i had to do the whole thing all over again
good news is, i did all that last night and the Cube is already reassembled
bad news is, i still need to wait for the newly applied goop to cure
good news is, i am tired

well i've got some good news and some bad news good news is, i ordered a brand new Apple SuperDrive to put into my G4 Cube as the connector is identical to the one on the original G4 Cube DVD reader bad news is, while the connector is in the same position, it is rotated 180 degrees good news is, i have verified that the pinout is identical to the original G4 Cube drive bad news is, i need to make a PCB just for this good news is, although trivial, it fulfills the urge to make a PCB
