@davidgerard@circumstances.run @baldur@toot.cafe It may be, in part, an age thing.
I can read an article while I listen to music as a break activity from other things, and that's my preferred method of consumption.
Audio or video requires my full attention (and virtually no-one is high bit-rate enough for me to not tune out at 1x - normally I need to turn things up to 1.5x or even 2x to stay with it).
It took me far longer than it should have to realize that much of *my own* audience does not share these preferences.

@kittylyst@mastodon.social So, I'm a big podcast listener, and podcasts are reserved to keep my brain busy during chores, walks, and commutes. I learned that I can't have two input streams, nor can I have two output streams. But having an interesting input stream as I do stuff that doesn't need much thinking is great. But I can't just listen to a podcast while sitting down at home. As for speeds, informational stuff I tend to play at 1.5x, and stuff that's for fun I play at 1x. @davidgerard@circumstances.run @baldur@toot.cafe
