Some from the old metropolis which has many intact depictions of saints and a very expansive series lining the top of the building taken from the death and resurrection of Christ. The present structure is dated to the 11th century due to the presence of a main entrance inscription containing the name of the founding bishop from that time. The frescoes are 13th c and were both marred and preserved due to the church being converted to mosque in the Ottoman period and plastered over.

I might revist both churches if they are open again to check the frescoes out in different lighting. Hard to check them out all at once due to the sheer square footage. There is another church which is only open on Tuesdays on request that also looks interesting.
