ABBA's "Ring, Ring" sounds (and looks!) like it could have been tracked during Ziggy Stardust.
This is a rock and roll band.

I really think that the one thing that makes folks see ABBA as "not rock" is that you're hearing women sing. Most folks see pop, I see a glam rock band.

@veronica@explains.social I was going to push back a little with the Ziggy Stardust comparison, but honestly that album is all over the map. Ring, Ring is nothing like Five Years or Lady Stardust, but maybe a little like Suffragette City which was always a weird fit there. It also reminds me a little of Of Montreal. ABBA may have had the aesthetics of a glam rock band, but they sounded more like bright indie rock, to me at least. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXJymCgHtfE
