    @simon_m@infosec.exchange Unfortunately I'm very far out of the SBC loop, so I'm not sure I can help you here. I can tell you that my general recommendation is typically to not use anything besides a Raspberry Pi for deployments without custom OS images, because everything outside of RPis tend to lack or have sketchy long-term software support. Ask yourself: What state will the Banana Pi be in 8 years from now? Will it be on an outdated OS because you don't trust the distro to be well tested enough with your particular device for updates to be reliable? Will you need to switch distros three times to get updates because distros keep dropping support for the device so you need to waste time hopping to a new one every 3 years for continued updates? Will the device stop being popular among the community so it stopped receiving any support in 3 years, meaning you needed to switch to a different device anyways? Every single SBC besides a Raspberry Pi fails the check above for me. Even if it doesn't, you won't know until you're already a few years deep, not up-front when you committing to the platform.
