On the rails again... #Intercity Today @wendy@mendeddrum.org, a friend and I are heading up to Gdańsk Główny on an Express Intercity Premium train, PKP Intercity's flagship High Speed Service. Today's Itinerary: https://moof.space/trip/2026-07-17 This service is run on Alstom Pendolino Novo ED250 units, although the trains themselves are not tilting. Well, it doesn't tilt, but the suspension is quite generous, so it sort of feels like it might. It travels at up to 200km/h, which is the maximum line speed on this track… not as high speed as trains to the West, but under the TEN-T criteria, it’s considered high speed as it's upgraded track. This Pendnolino is quite comfortable, with plenty of space for luggage, inluding Alstom's generous overhead racks. It's at the level of comfort that I'd expect from trains further in the west. And the free snacks and drinks is definitely something I'm not seeing in my more regular services.
