Google enshittified their search function, the backbone of knowledge transfer for two decades, and is replacing it with botshit. Employees have their job security tied to AI adoption. The entire media landscape is running with the story that AI is going to transform everything beyond recognition. Approximately no one is using it because it makes their life slightly easier.

@kaneel@mas.to @tante@tldr.nettime.org I might say people choose whatever they are given, most of the time When the alternative is dim and not backed by the government it's very hard to "choose" - it builds infrastructure not citizens anymore... Compare dependency on private cars - I've been in Belgium, France and Netherlands then to the UK, which has the worst "choice" to ditch cars - and it looks like it's impossible to live without it at all. The AI bulshit is already beyond the computer science and technology
