Whole agreement. Also, any corporation which uses GenAI/LLMs which cannot produce the provenance of its entire set of training data and prove that it was all created by themselves must either give up their right to any and all copyrights in perpetuity or give up GenAI/LLMs.
Any corp. Any GenAI/LLMs. I don't care whether it's just creating wall textures, if you sourced it from public assets, you don't get to copyright your material. This goes for Microsoft as well.

@theogrin@chaosfem.tw @pathunstrom@ngmx.com Agreed. I would also add that there should be a legal requirement for any LLM generated material to include how many kWh of energy was used to generate that product. This information is easily available - this is one of the factors that Data Centers use to bill their clients. I think that many people would be shocked to learn how much energy their requests to AI consume.

@theogrin@chaosfem.tw @pathunstrom@ngmx.com Not just any company or corporation, ANYBODY. That self-employed musician who thinks it's okay to use 'ai art'. Same there - tell them you're stealing their music, because they have forfeited the right to the copyright.
