Getting on the ballot to run in the first place is a huge hurdle that most people can’t overcome due to institutional rules placed by those in powers to make sure someone far more popular can’t challenge the status quo. Ranked choice voting won’t work if the person you want to vote for can’t run or be on the ballot in the first place.

@majorlinux@toot.majorshouse.com @quinn@social.circl.lu I'm from Illinois. I am *well* aware of ballot access issues. We're infamous for them. As I said, the list of things to address is long. Pick one, any one, and get to work. That we all do something real is more important than what the somethig is.
