Today's bike ride to work sucked. Wearing a respirator for 30 minutes isn't very comfortable. I had to adjust it a few times and it was much worse breathing in the wildfire smoke so respirator it is. I can only assume our climate will get worse as time goes on so I figured I might want to get used to this. #BikeTooter #Wisconsin

@rasterweb@mastodon.social in the early 1990s I wore a respirator to commute by bike in London. I found it impossible to keep a single respirator clean enough for daily use to prevent it becoming a worse problem than the air itself. Decades ago but changed me to thinking about a bell and backpack lung like undersea instead of face only

@rasterweb@mastodon.social I find the 2097 filter *waaaay* too restrictive. You may want to look at the 7093. Densely pleated material, so there’s more surface area. The package also makes it easy to check the respirator’s seal against your face, so you can wear it a bit looser.
