@jon@gruene.social One reason could be that they have training to validate certain ID’s and those are the ones they accept, or? Like it’s not about exactly about the country, but just they need a list of approved ID types for practical reasons.
Can’t exactly be the first time a German driver uses these ferries of course, so even then it seems a bit stupid. But maybe not nefarious?

@stefanlindbohm@mastodon.social This person was just doing their job, although they could have been a bit more clever in their communication. Any EU driving license has a standard form, so that *must* be a valid way to check this. And she knew full well what a German driving license looks like. I think she was more taken aback anyone would dare challenge the rule.
