@stefanlindbohm@mastodon.social This person was just doing their job, although they could have been a bit more clever in their communication. Any EU driving license has a standard form, so that *must* be a valid way to check this. And she knew full well what a German driving license looks like.
I think she was more taken aback anyone would dare challenge the rule.

@jon@gruene.social @stefanlindbohm@mastodon.social when sailing from Germany to Finland, I gave my Dutch residence permit as my ID, and they were very very very confused by me speaking English with an English accent, whilst having and ID document in Dutch.

@jon@gruene.social @stefanlindbohm@mastodon.social I suspect the only reason they even accept Nordic driving licences is that it's a legal requirement according to the Nordic Convention. Silly to not accept all Schengen driving licenses either way.
