And there will always be a market for O & G. Alberta supplying 5 of 80 million bbl/day of oil with an extraction debt lower than Venezuela or Nigeria actually aids in emissions control.
Global warming is existential and "feel good" responses that don't help the transition are wasted. A far bigger issue are the obstacles Ontario (focus on ice vehicles) and Alberta (discourage/forbid renewables) put on achieving an evolution. Alberta has also blinded itself to using oil sand bitumen in more profitable ways than just converting it for combustion.
