Curious what is the experience of others in #getfedihired: I am a well-qualified engineer with a good reputation in several communities, a public speaker, leader at enterprise-level companies. I am also openly AuDHD. None of my applications since January are getting through to recruiters (as far as I can tell). Has anyone else noticed this change? I had several interviews last year but everything went silent recently. (1/2)

  • @castastrophe@front-end.social I have had two successful interviews come from Fedi and one from outside job searching. Everything else I've been sending out hasn't gotten responses either. This is a tough market, made all the worse by AI resumes making the signal to noise ratio that much more challenging. Good luck!

@castastrophe@front-end.social I've been applying constantly since April and still haven't had a response. I'm mostly applying for junior sysadmin netadmin and even basic help desk positions. I've been filling out the demographic information including disability (AuDHD and physical) but now I'm starting to wonder if I shouldn't. It's been really discouraging.

  • I read about AI taking disability into account when ranking candidates, do we think this is rumor or has evidence yet been presented? (2/2)

  • @castastrophe@front-end.social I decline all optional demographic questions. Haven't even bothered seriously hunting in months. The job market is absolutely awful and the AI slop in the process is very visible.
