@steve@s.yelvington.com My observation of a lightening strike at work many years ago supports the notion that it follows the easiest path to ground.
It might be worthwhile to trace that path to see if it could be offered a less destructive path next time. 🤷♂️
Seldom practical, of course.

@waltwooton@spartanburg.social @steve@s.yelvington.com Four years ago today, I had similar happen and also have underground utilities--cable modem, gfci circuit, other little things. Found a scorch mark on the driveway near where the cable went under. The big oak tree less than 10 feet away died suddenly later.
