@waltwooton@spartanburg.social @steve@s.yelvington.com Four years ago today, I had similar happen and also have underground utilities--cable modem, gfci circuit, other little things. Found a scorch mark on the driveway near where the cable went under. The big oak tree less than 10 feet away died suddenly later.

@cell911@techhub.social @steve@s.yelvington.com The Alligator used to be in a former fraternity house on University Avenue where there once was a radio station. There was a very tall post with an antenna at the top. The Cox cable crossed close to it, and I believe that was the entry point. There was easily $10,000+ worth of damage throughout the building, and that was in 1990.
