Our power lines are all buried, but a lightning strike seems to have killed the garage door opener (that I just finished hooking up to voice control), the living room TV, a GFI electrical circuit, and most importantly, the central air conditioner.
I was looking out the front window and everything lit up bright orange-red.
I'll be out in the yard tomorrow, looking for damaged trees and streetlights. Something got the crap knocked out of it.

@steve@s.yelvington.com My observation of a lightening strike at work many years ago supports the notion that it follows the easiest path to ground. It might be worthwhile to trace that path to see if it could be offered a less destructive path next time. 🤷♂️ Seldom practical, of course.
