It kind of amazes me that this long after "Yes, all men" became a thing that there are guys that still don't seem to understand it and worse still, seem to get more angry at the person saying it than at the statistics that drive it in the first place.
Every time something related is posted there are invariably a LOT of guys who will wade right in to talk about how surely they are an exception and they respect women and they're one of the good ones and and and.
"Yes all men" means just that.
All. Fucking. Men.
Yes, I mean me too, that's what "all" means.
Law of averages, if a woman who doesn't know me sees me walking towards them on a sidewalk late at night, it's in her best interest to get to the other side of the street and keep eyes on me and try to get somewhere there are more people.
I'm mad about that!
But I'm sure as hell not mad at the woman who moves to the other side of the road, I'm mad at the guys who make that statistic one worth trusting and fearing!
If you're angry that you "put in all that work and it amounted to nothing" then brother I have some bad news for you. You're not as trust-worthy as you think you are.
All that work to establish trust with the people around you is the bare minimum. You being a safe person is the bare minimum. You're not owed trust, you earn it through what you say and what you do and sometimes you don't get it.
Use that to do some introspection, they don't owe you an explanation. Maybe you did nothing wrong at all; see earlier in this post on "Yes, all men" for clarification.

@monkeyninja@10base2.dev Yes all men... what, exactly? Like I'm familiar with guys saying "not all men", but they're usually technically correct when they say that, they're just derailing and generally not being helpful.
