not sure why i'm straight into politicking on a monday, but here we are. i was very seriously unimpressed with gary stevenson on @novaramedia@mastox.eu yesterday, given his proposed fervent support for burnham (and/or streeting!) if burnham agrees to a wealth tax. a wealth tax is essential. but a wealth tax alone won't save us. and stevenson's apparent lack of concern for the fact that labour is pro israel (/ pro genocide), pro AI, pro privatisation of the NHS, anti civil liberties, happy to throw the elderly, the disabled, trans people, and refugees under the bus, seemingly intent on destroying the environment/climate even further, in favour of peter mandelson until they were dragged kicking and screaming away from him, inciting racial hatred, STILL following the US into hell, and generally a bunch of right-leaning, increasingly fascist, authoritarian corporate shills is sickening. burnham has shown no evidence thus far that he'll be any different from what came before. and streeting certainly won't. nvm that they'd likely do whatever they could to funnel the money they collected straight back to the billionaire class anyway, in one way or another. is stevenson so fixated on his personal crusade that he can't see all of that? or does he not care? (he also continues to have an *extremely* high opinion of himself (or is overcompensating).)
