#solar #electricity: is there a DC standard to use in homes instead of AC?
since solar panels and batteries are getting cheap, it seems like it makes sense to get rid of the inverter in all devices (only necessary for connecting to the grid)
i wonder if there would be a worldwide standard to DC systems in homes if its ever formalized

@Logical_Error@fosstodon.org doesn't seem to be - I keep looking for PoE and 48v DC - powered devices, but it's hard work :( Let us know if you find anything useful!
