I did a thing over the weekend. Quite a faff to set it all up BUT speaking from personal experience, flying a C152 in MSFS24 with VR and yoke/pedals is almost ridiculously similar to the real thing in a real aircraft. I am really fairly impressed with Meta Quest 3 VR. And the best bit is, I traded an old point-and-shoot camera I’d not used in 5 years so only had to pay £47 to CEX in money for the headset. Win.

I have something like between 150 and 200 hours logged in a variety of real C152s, including dozens of solo hours, including taking off at one airfield, landing at another, taking off again at that airfield, and landing again back at the first solo. So I think I am somewhat placed to judge. It's absolutely mad that if I want to look down, I just look down, and see the wheel on its strut sticking out beneath me. This is the same IRL as it is on the VR system. Completely bonkers tech.
