I have something like between 150 and 200 hours logged in a variety of real C152s, including dozens of solo hours, including taking off at one airfield, landing at another, taking off again at that airfield, and landing again back at the first solo. So I think I am somewhat placed to judge. It's absolutely mad that if I want to look down, I just look down, and see the wheel on its strut sticking out beneath me. This is the same IRL as it is on the VR system. Completely bonkers tech.

@bloor@bloor.tw When I still ran Windows, and my eyes could cope with VR, flying in FS2020 with the HTC Vive was the best thing. So much easier to do things when you can just look at where you want to go instead of only ahead. Driving games were also okay but it wasn't quite the game changer. Not sure I'll have much luck with any of that on Linux though.

  • @bloor@bloor.tw My son (19) is learning at the moment in a C172. He is too tall for a C152. He's at about 10 hours and looking to start the theory exams 😉
