Hotel observation number one: like pretty much any part of modern American life, no one is acting like COVID still exists. Not a single staff member or other guest is wearing a mask, and no one has any apparent compunction about sharing an elevator without a mask. God fucking damn it. I hope my respirators work *perfectly*. Thank fuck I brought a nice HEPA filter for the room, too.

I caught COVID three weeks ago! It is very much so still a thing and not at all over!

@xgranade@wandering.shop Best of luck!! Some family members had to stay in a hotel before/during a surgery I had a couple of years ago. Respirators in the halls, air filter in the room, and the ability to open the window a little, and thankfully no one got sick. There was a door for an adjoining room which I was not happy about but I blocked off the cracks and it didn’t sound like anyone was in there at least. The hospital situation was more nerve wracking, but at least the recovery room nurse assigned to me was the only one still wearing a mask herself.
