@kpl@social.lol especially true in the South. I love my southern roots, but Southern Hospitality is very often a way to shut people up in the types of situations you’re talking about

@Bfordham@infosec.exchange I think the rules are more obvious and easy to spot in the South, honestly. They’re well-documented and everyone knows them. The euphemisms haven’t changed … ever? I think there’s an insidiousness in the more modern amorphous gatekeeping. It’s hard to point to. Maybe that’s just me not being as familiar with it.
