Every time people claim that server-side window decorations provide a cleaner, more uniform look, I think of what Kdenlive could have looked like on my desktop vs how it actually looks #CSD #SSD #KDE #QT #GNOME #Wayland

If it looked like the first picture, its window decorations obviously wouldn't match the many GNOME apps I run on my system. But there's no law of the universe stating that it has to. We *can* just let go of the constructed idea that window controls in particular have to match across every single app while nothing else does.

@bragefuglseth@sunny.garden Talking about how apps look on other DEs, I don't like how Adwaita apps follow the set icon theme. It causes ugly mismatches or even straight up missing icons if you use basically any "custom" icon. I had to force load the Adwaita icon theme in Bazaar to not ship a broken experience on KDE. But this sadly also has the side effect of changing the window control icons.
