@VogueLaGalere@mastodon.online @lydialurch@mastodon.social a saying i understand but disagree with after death a person only has their legacy, and if their legacy sucks, i do not understand the timidity to not continue castigating them for it as one would do in life death is death it's a passage past which we certainly do not stop mentioning the good deeds someone did in life and by the same logic it does not mean we must stop mentioning the bad deeds someone did in life why not? some sort of decorum? fuck decorum

If the shitty people have to worry about what people will say after they die, maybe a few of them will strive to be less shitty in life.

@benroyce@mastodon.social Especially politicians, who have track records. This man knew how bad Spanky is and spoke against him until it served his purposes to get in line and show his belly. He stood for dehumanizing others, destabilizing the world, undoing work of traditional allies, forcing girls and women to give birth or die trying, etc. He was apparently good to his younger sister. You don't mention "the stupid thing" and you focus on the happy memories. Someone's granddad dies. He spent his life seeking power. He got the power and he abused it. People suffered. Fuck him.
