@mzedp@plasmatrap.com all the people alerting us about climate change and being interviewed about the heat waves, all of them say that this is nothing compared with what is to comeby and large, we (humans) will survive the heat wavescrops and feedstock won’tneither will certain insects, plants etcgenerally, anything that doesn’t have access to air conditioning of any kind, technological or not, will not adapt fast enough

    @GuillaumeRossolini@infosec.exchange Yeah, I often think about this - AC is well and good for us (until temps surpass the maximum at which AC stops working), but wildlife doesn't have it. And once wildlife goes, I fear we won't hold up much longer. I saw a report some years ago of an experiment growing crops in environments meant to simulate future conditions which showed yields almost 50% less than current ones. It's not looking good. I suspect the future will see human populations reduced to small niches of habitability.
