There is something quite sickening about being told to "respect the dead" from the right-wing, every single time someone posts about things they said and did in life. And you're apparently being the divisive and hateful one, even if you condemn the manner in which the person died. That never seems to be something that goes both ways. Just a brief reminder of how the right-wing has responded to deaths, and the level of respect they've shown for the deceased.

  • Jacob Rees-Mogg went on national radio and said that the people who died in the Grenfell Tower, did so because they lacked common sense by listening to the "stay put" order by the fire brigade. He was not only defended for his remarks by the right-wing. But he was re-elected as a Tory MP in 2019, was still provided a regular platform by every media outlet in this country, and has his own show on GBeebies today.

    @ShredderLivesOn@mastodon.scot also, if people quoting you post-mortem is deemed “disrespectful” by the people who seemingly agree with them, that’s a whole new level of hypocrisy.
