#enshittification
I've been looking into buying a new #SatNav.
Many of them offer live traffic, a vital feature for a truck driver, here though, is my problem, all those I have looked at so far, require a phone app, and a Bluetooth link to the phone to provide the traffic info. This requirement has recently been added to my current unit, which is why I started looking for a new one.
Until a few weeks ago, I got perfectly good routing around traffic hold ups without a phone connection... Not any more 🤬

@ArabellaLovejoy@mastodonapp.uk I didn't realise that standalone satnav units were still a thing. I assumed everyone who needed them used a phone these days. Even my luddite brother-in-law uses a permanent car phone that is linked to his main phone (Bluetooth or WiFi hotspot - I don't know which) I learn something new every day on Mastodon!
