#enshittification I've been looking into buying a new #SatNav. Many of them offer live traffic, a vital feature for a truck driver, here though, is my problem, all those I have looked at so far, require a phone app, and a Bluetooth link to the phone to provide the traffic info. This requirement has recently been added to my current unit, which is why I started looking for a new one. Until a few weeks ago, I got perfectly good routing around traffic hold ups without a phone connection... N...

10 days ago George and I visited a castle in #Wales, it feels like a lifetime ago. It's been a long hard week in the #truck, too hot, too many miles, and too many hours.

We've just had a brief #PowerOutage at home. When the power came back on, it took a while for the modem to reconnect, during the process my husband said, " without that little box, our lives are pointless." It took a while for me to stop laughing.

After noticing our position in the #AltText league table, I'd just like to encourage my fellow #MastodonAppUK users to add Alt Text to their photos, I'm not chastising anyone, just giving a gentle nudge to help visually impaired Mastodonians.

Meanwhile, at the small #Allotment... Dramatic music.... We've been invaded by Marsh Horsetail (Equisetum palustre.) Let the war of attrition commence

It's #InvasiveSpecies day at the #allotment. 1st and more easily dealt with is the Spanish Bluebell, which I figure I can just dig up, and replace with the native variety. 2nd is Marsh Horsetail, this is a nasty piece of work, it is everywhere I look. So, is there a way to eradicate it that is A) inexpensive, and B) doesn't involve fighting a battle that will last the rest of my life? #gardening

I have cast my ballot in the upcoming elections (in the UK) π I have a postal vote because my job prevents me attending the polling station.

@lindasgoluppiart@mastodonapp.uk I can't, for even a minute imagine your life as a failure, if you brought happiness to even 1 person, and I'm sure have, then you have succeeded.

I took my proper camera (a Canon EOS 90D) up to the #allotment here is my favourite shot from the day, a little trio of blossom on my #Plum tree. Work was also done

A cold windy day up at the main #allotment but we still got a lot of preparation done, and weeded the whole Fruit Zone. After 4 hours in a biting wind, we returned home to a cup of hot Bovril. #GYO #GrowYourOwn

True AI could be used in so many ways to make things better for everyone. Instead a weak version is thrown into every software imaginable to generate woeful imagery, and poor articles. So sad.

Lovely warm day on the #alottment, didn't do as much as I wanted, but made visible progress, so calling it a win. Lots of bees enjoying the spring flowers, I hope they're will hungry when the fruit trees blossom.

@MikeFromLFE@cupoftea.social Just back from mine, we have crocus, but the daffodils are still only in bud. It was breezy, but pleasant

Meanwhile, up at the 'big' #allotment, crocus are flowering,, while the daffodils and tulips are in the green. And I've created a pond, since this photo was taken I've added an escape route for anyone falling in. Plants will be added next week, when I hope to get it finished. #Allotment #Wildlife #Pond

Meanwhile on #Mastodon I have just over 100 followers, roughly a third of the number I had on Twitter before I left, however, the quality of the interaction I have here is orders of magnitude better. Why anyone thinks staying on X because "I have loads of followers" is a justification is just plain wrong.

@kibcol1049@mstdn.social For a tiny fraction of that money, I'd be happy to drive the bulldozer. Which would leave plenty left over to build a state of the art parliament building in the Midlands.

@yvan@toot.ale.gd This is the tree, it clearly crops well, as the ground is littered with last year's fruit, the guy on the next plot over, said he took quite a lot before Christmas (while the plot was intended.) The plot was untended for a few years, so all the fruiting plants need a lot of care.
