@pettter@social.accum.se absolutely! I just made the point that passive cooling like shutters, or painting the roofs white etc are 90% the same as active heat pumps like AC.
Some people have this irrational fear that AC “heats up the city” but not that “closing the shutters” heats up the city.

@szbalint@mastodon.social yes, because AC does, in fact, heat up the city while passive methods do not. Don't get me wrong, there are many other actions also needed, not least plant cover, but if you can achieve good enough cooling with passive methods, that is always preferrable to AC.
