@flexghost@mastodon.social From my time Neil Peart was so astonishing as a drummer that he and Rush put Canada on the map for contemporary music. Youtubers that focus on music of any genre listen to "Tom Sawyer" because the drumming was so ahead of its time. He also wrote the lyrics for their songs. He was so proficient only a woman could replace him after his death. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJoTxywiRG0

@flexghost@mastodon.social Elvis Presley defined both a generation and a musical genre. Anyone of my mother's generation could tell you exactly where they were and what they were doing when JFK was shot - and when they heard that Elvis had died. ☕ Not drinking anything yet, but promised the missus that we'd get egg choco this morning. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23zLefwiii4 #MastodonMusic

@flexghost@mastodon.social Alright Flex, I think I’m gonna hit the grand slam tonight. Joey, DeeDee, Johnny, and Tommy are all dead now, but definitely not forgotten. I got to see them play when I was a kid and it was life changing. There are numerous songs they are known for but this one is the one everyone seems to know and relate to. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bm51ihfi1p4&feature=youtu.be EDIT: I forgot the beer. A plain ol’ Rolling Rock today.
