Alright gardeners, I need a sanity check. This was meant to be yellow crookneck summer squash. I've never grown it before, but this looks an awful lot like zucchini. Does it turn yellow eventually or should I just enjoy zucchini? #gardening

@tehfishman@ioc.exchange It looks too young to be enjoyed , how old is it?

@tehfishman@ioc.exchange I'm growing crookneck right now and they are yellow from start to finish.

@tehfishman@ioc.exchange it's certainly not a yellow crookneck ... Did you save your own seed? Squash are super eager to hybridize with anything nearby plausible -- you have to work harder than I do to get true seed from squash. Or, whoever you got the seeds from didn't do a good job of keeping them all straight...

@tehfishman@ioc.exchange Congratulations on a nice zucchini, that is definitely not a yellow crookneck.
