@AncTreat5358@lgbtqia.space @stez@mastodon.design @andycarolan@social.lol there are things like https://www.beeper.com/ that allow you to use message across multiple platforms, so then to you it would appear in one app, but I don't know if you could then have a group chat that includes people on WhatsApp and signal in one place. I suspect if you did you wouldn't benefit for Signal's encryption anymore.
I suppose it also depends on the reason why you do/don't want to use a messaging service. Even if you used Signal, and bridged to WhatsApp, it would mean Meta would get all your metadata, who you contacted, when etc.

I was just trying to think of alternatives if you were on Signal and didn't want to be in bed with Meta. But it sounds like that's not possible for the group chats the post I responded to was referring to.
