Yesterday's #BandcampFriday haul was relatively modest. It would have been more/worse, but a number of releases I tried to buy repeatedly failed to accept payment, but others worked with the same payment details. Anyone else have that? The whole Red Means Recording/Jeremy Blake back catalogue which was on offer, and I've recently also been enjoying his YouTube videosOST for Outer Wilds, and the expansion 'Echos of the Eye'OST for the game Thomas Was AloneSlime City's Nation R...

Unbridled laughter is echoing from our bathroom. Today Child A bought an old joke book for 1€ from the #library, and is reading it on the loo. Apparently sh-t's funny. #parenting

Today's #1001albums is the Red Hot Chili Pepper's Californication. This was everywhere as a teenager; TV, radio and computer games. I owned the tab book and tried to learn a few of the songs to moderate success. In that sense I don't think I'll ever escape it. After all the these years I still feel it is a very mixed bag; the title track plus Parallel Universe, Scar Tissue, Otherside and Road Trippin' are great. But a lot of the rest just feels like a manic mess. Perhaps tha...

@annaleen thank you for selling your #books DRM-Free. That means I could easily buy Automatic Noodle from ebooks.com, download the epub to my 2012 laptop, and load it onto my 2011 ebook reader with a replaced battery, in minutes with zero problems¹. Nothing unnecessarily thrown into landfill for being too old, using the devices and systems I want, without being locked in or tracked. Now I'm looking forward to enjoying the story. 1: Yes, that is a painfully Mastodon sentence.

Today's #WTF moment is brought to you by trying to figure out why 404 pages in my #homeLab coming via a reverse proxy were all mangled and weird. I've tried every combination of gzip on and off, headers, encoding on the #nginx proxy and backend. Then I check the actual 404.html page. I have no idea how that happened. #CaptainItsWednesday #websites

Good News! my favourite obscure #swedish small town #stoner #metal band¹, 10,000 Years, have just released a new single. And it's very good. https://10000years.bandcamp.com/album/two-million-stones-single ¹ Don't tell me you don't have a favourite obscure Swedish small town stoner metal band? In which case you do now. #StonerDoom #music

Our local supermarket has been remodelled, so now I can't find anything, and going there takes twice as long as before. 80(ish?) year old lady on the phone in one of the aisles: "Yeah, the one where they've changed everything. Yeah, exactly, where they've put the washing powder opposite the breakfast cereal. No. No. It doesn't make any sense. Pickles next to the toilet paper. Utter madness. After two hours of trying to flatten and rake out the molehills, our lawn has so many black patches that it looks like it lost a bar fight. It's probably a bit flatter, and there was intermittent help from the children, but I'm knackered. I don't really care about the lawn being perfectly flat. It just needs to be flat and smooth enough that our robomower can cut the grass, and the children can play on it. #gardening #parenting #DomesticBliss

Every time I start my #Windows11 work laptop plugged into its USB-C doc it can't find the network. It briefly sees the WiFi, then realises it's got a wired connection, switches to that and then can't connect. Unplugging and plugging it back in again solves the problem every time. When will it finally be #YearOfTheWindowsDesktop?
