@tek@freeradical.zone you do realize you're basically complaining about what the web was supposed to be and basically what it originally was we're so used to being channeled into walled corporate gardens that we're horrified by something we would have found awesome in 1993. what do you mean, anyone can just...publish a website? ye gods. the horror. EDIT: Surprise, it's actually horrible

@gloriouscow@oldbytes.space @tek@freeradical.zone I think the main problem is that it doesn't even show you a file tree. It's exceedingly easy to accidentally upload something you didn't want to (home dir, dot files, etc). Other than that, it's no different than any other free virtual web hosting or cloud storage provider (most allow publishing over HTTP)

@gloriouscow@oldbytes.space No, it wasn’t. I was there and you’re wrong about it. You had to deliberately plan to share stuff. It was exceedingly hard to accidentally share your whole life’s data to the whole Internet, unauthenticated, for free, with a single drag and drop. Peer to peer publishing is great. The same with no guardrails at all is not great.
