Portage at Spence Street, 1896 vs now. A few more buildings and a bif pedestrian overpass.
My claim to fame, cycling to Portage & Main and turning right towards Montréal.

The 1 East of Winnipeg is a proper divided highway. But at the time did not have shoulders It now does but with rumble strips to make cycling next to impossible). However this road was luxury compared to the trauma I was about to be submitted to in Ontario. and that's it for this long day of 265km ! (back then, I had a fixed number of 36 exposure rolls and didn't just take any/all pictures).
