@RyeNCode@mstdn.ca it really is you having to interview a ton of companies to see which ones have any competent tech leadership left. that's a shit situation to be in and you have my sympathies for needing to deal with it

@cap_ybarra@beige.party thanks, It is. I tried to stomach it, but it was actually harmful. (Moral injury the psychologists call it) I'm string some very near freelance and will likely be taking jobs out of band (different primary function, gaming back to my physical labor roots) to make ends meet. I recall a game (Rise of the Dragon [Dynamix]) in one scene there was down and out hard up person seemingly drunk, resting/passed out against a wall, when the player inspects that person they titled as "an unemployed computer programmer" which seemed funny at the time in the 80s as a view of the future. Now, comical in the naivety.
