@hacks4pancakes@infosec.exchange Every one of these things is rooted in data surveillance and degradation of the human right to privacy.

@hacks4pancakes@infosec.exchange "video surveillance in cars and homes" What does that even look like? I've never encountered it.

@hacks4pancakes@infosec.exchange Absolutely. And here I am, pre-ordering a remake of a 2014 video game I've played a million times, because I have absolutely zero faith that 99% of the remaining companies that make big open world games of the sort I enjoy can even do that any more without corporate profit mandates making them utter garbage. My house is full of physical media, I subscribe to almost no streaming services, and the most excitement I get when I acquire hardware is... when it's 20 years old.

@hacks4pancakes@infosec.exchange I like to hope this will be the time when the collective gets fed up enough to do something about it. removal of physical media -> fuck off I'm pirating forced AI -> fuck off I'm gonna comply in the most malicious way possible. I will literally ask chatgpt to churn video surveillance in cars and homes -> fuck off I'm biking and using vintage tech micro transactions -> fuck off I'm buying from physical stores and paying cash digital subscriptions -> fuck off, see point 1
